2011 Announcements

August

We will host a Hoover Police & Fire Dept. Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, August 20 at 08:00am. All Hoover members are encouraged to attend and show your appreciation to the men and women that protect and serve the city of Hoover diligently.

We will have a Master Mason degree on Monday, August 23 at 07:00pm to raise Bro. Brett Leslie. We will have dinner at 06:00. All Master Masons are invited to attend!

June

06/24/2011 - Officer installation for our 2011-2012 officers will be Saturday, July 16th. A meal will be served at 11:00AM with the installation following. Presiding over our installation will be MWGM Ron Andress. The Marshall will be District Lecturer Bro. Lyn Emfinger. This will be an open installation, so all family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to Bro. Daniel Liliac for being raised to Master Mason on 6/18/11. A big thanks go out to all of the visiting brothers who attended!

Due to renovation construction at Hoover Firehouse Number 4, our breakfast for the fire fighters and police officers of the City of Hoover scheduled for June 11th has been postponed. Watch the announcements page for the new date within the next week. We are doing this to show our local servicemen and women how much we appreciate what they do. We encourage all members to come out and support them Again, we will be at Firehouse #4, NOT the Lodge.

May

Chelsea Masonic Lodge #886 will raise Bro. John David Hunt to the degree of Master Mason on Thursday 5/26/11. They will have dinner at 6:00, they'll take up his Fellowcraft lesson at 6:30, and the degree will start at 7:00. Chelsea has requested assistance from the surrounding Lodges and the Shelby County Degree team. Please come out and support them with the honor of conferring the Master Mason degree!

April

Beginning this month, the Lodge will be selling jars of honey to raise money for Three Hots and a Cot, a local charity which houses and feeds Veterans. This is a great way to help show veterans in our area how much we appreciate their service to our country! Fill out our contact form on the Contacts page to preorder. 1 (slightly larger than) quart size jar will be 15$.

Hoover Lodge participated in the annual Hoover day on April 30th. Members of the Dinar Grotto also participated. The Grotto brought clowns and balloons, while the Lodge brought Child ID kits. Over 700 balloons were given out during the event!

Hoover Lodge congratulates Brothers Daniel Liliac, Brett Leslie, and Stephen Moore on being passed to the degree of Fellowcraft!

March

We will have two Entered Apprentice degrees on March 7 at 7:00pm for Mr. George Scarbrough and Mr. Stephen L Moore.

The Lodge is receiving a lot of petitions so far this year. There is a lot of work going on! During the March 7th we will announce plans for 2011 charity work. Be sure to attend!

February

We will have two Entered Apprentice degrees on Monday, February 21 at 7:00pm. The recipients are Mr. Daniel Liliac and Mr. Steven L. Moore. All brothers are invited and encouraged to come.

We will have a Master Mason degree on Monday February 28th. The degree will begin at 6:30 and we will have a meal between sections. All Master Masons in good standing are invited to join us!

On February 12th we held a "Work Out" session from 9-12. Breakfast omelets were cooked by Bro. Radu Moisa. All members were encouraged to attend. The purpose of the meeting was to brainstorm ideas for charity drives and contributions for the upcoming year, as well other items which will be reported on Monday February 21, and March 7, 2011.

January

We held an excellent 5th Monday family night on the 31. Many friends and family were in attendance. The Lodge received 4 petitions for the first three degrees and 1 for dual membership.
