Hoover Lodge #644
Free and Accepted Masons of Alabama
Hoover Alabama

Welcome Notes

From the Worshipful Master:

I welcome you to the Hoover Lodge # 644 web page. Hoover Lodge is open to all men in good public standing. It is the internal and not the external that makes a good man. All Free and Accepted Masons (F & A.M.) from Lodges recognized by the Grand Lodge of Alabama F & A.M. are welcome to come and be with us in our meetings.

At Hoover Lodge, we are quiet contributors to the community, and tend to the needs of our brethren, their wives, widows, mothers, and children. We encourage our members to maintain a high moral standing, and to contribute to charity. In fact, among all other fraternities in the world, Masonry contributes more money to charity than any other. The Knights Templar, Scottish Rite, and Shriners are all good organizations made up of only Master Masons. Pure fraternal Masonry is only conferred in the first three degrees of the Blue Lodge. The other degrees came into existence only after the completion of King Solomon's Temple.

Women cannot join the Masonic Lodge, but can join the Order of the Eastern Star, an organization that is dear to Master Masons and their wives. We have a chapter here at Hoover Lodge. For more information, contact me by the email listed on the Contacts Page, and I will respond to you.

In closing, if you have any questions feel free to contact any of the brethren listed. Masonry is not a religion, but is based on the Old Testament. So remember, To Be One Ask One. May God Bless you, our city, and our country.

                                                                                      Sincerely,
                                                                                      David A. Jones W.M.

From the Secretary:
As the Secretary of Hoover Lodge, I extend the hand of fellowship to everyone who visits the site. Hoover Lodge is rich in Masonic tradition, and we look forward to continued expansion, extending even into the wonderful new world of cyberspace.

If you are a Mason new to the area, or just traveling through the area, we invite you to our regular meetings on the first and third Monday of each month. Our meetings are open to all Masons in good standing. We also hold a special Fifth Monday Family Dinner, which is open to everyone. It's a great way to learn more about the fraternity.

If you are surfing the net looking for information, please know that Freemasonry is one of the oldest, friendliest, and most honorable organizations on Earth.Millions of people, from all walks of life, have found friendship, morality, and brotherly within its walls. We, the Master, Wardens, and Brethren of Hoover Lodge, along with Masons all over the world, invite you to discover more by asking your Masonic friend or relative how you can join this wonderful organization.

                                                                                    Fraternally,
                                                                                    Todd Troulias
